NAZARENE YOUTH CONFERENCE

Nazarene Youth Conference 2023 is happening in Tampa Bay, Florida!

The trip dates are July 4-11 with the actual conference being July 5-9.

About nyc

  • A 4-day youth conference for high school students

  • Ministry With Others community service projects
    that impact the host city

  • Plenary sessions featuring engaging speakers and creative artists

  • Worship services led by a skilled worship band

  • Live concerts featuring top Christian recording artists

  • Daily teachings that challenge and unite students

  • Resources students can take home after the event

  • Interactive experiences designed for group discipleship
    and creative learning

    games, and exhibits

Traveling Details

We will be flying to Tampa Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 and returning on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023.  Some of you will be flying out of Houston and some out of Austin.  We are still working on the details and will get you those as soon as we can so you can prepare.

Note: Passengers under the age 18 do not require ID’s to fly. (https://www.tsa.gov/travel/frequently-asked-questions/will-minors-need-have-drivers-license-or-state-id-fly) 


If you will be 18 or older by July 4 you will need a state approved form of ID. If you have questions about acceptable forms of ID, please visit: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification.

What to pack

We're working on a full length packing list, but for now, think through all of the essentials you'll need for a week trip. Some things to think about include, but are not limited to:

  • Clothes for 7 days

  • Hat/Sunglasses

  • Sunscreen

  • Phone charger

  • Bible (we'll provide a journal/pen)

  • ID if you need it (if you're over 18 at the time of travel)

  • Toiletries (Deodorant, Hairbrush, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, conditioner, shampoo, body wash, etc)

  • Swimsuit/Trunks

    • Guys and Girls must have their torso covered, so be sure to bring a shirt with your swim trunks or bikinis. Tankinis and one pieces are okay

Mission with others (MWO)

Something we do with the nearly 10,000 students and leaders that attend NYC is our Mission With Others project. This year, we have a goal to provide the city of Tampa with 100,000 Care Kits! You can be a part of that and we encourage you to get together with your youth group or church to put together these kits to Bring With you in your suitcase when you travel! On the first day of the conference, we'll have a site set up for all participants to walk through and drop off their Bring With items. We're so excited to inspire hope in the hearts and lives of those in the Tampa community. For info on what to bring, click below!

Itinerary

A final itinerary will be sent out the last part of May but here is a little synopsis of our plans:  

  •  Fly out on July 4th

    • Airports will be assigned to different groups. We will be flying out of Austin and Houston

  • July 4th-9th we will be in Tampa(hotel info will be given in final itinerary)

  • July 9th after NYC ends, we will drive to Orlando and stay 2 nights in Kissimmee, Florida

  • July 10th we will go to Universal Studios

  • July 11th fly back to Houston or Austin

t-shirt design contest

We want your input on our NYC t-shirt choices! If you have been to NYC, you know t-shirts are a BIG deal. People work all weekend to swap for their favorite shirts from other districts across the US and Canada.

The goal is to promote who we are and where we will be. At a minimum, all designs should include the following:
* South Texas NYI (STX NYI)
* NYC 2023
Optional design ideas:
* Tampa Bay, FL
* The NYC theme and/or logo
* Phineas (our South Texas armadillo)
* Any creative design elements you come up with

The NYC23 theme is Overflow, based on Romans 15:13 which says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may OVERFLOW with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

All designs should be submitted by Saturday, April 15. Feel free to email, dm, or text us your designs. We will then hold a poll to decide the winning design. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
